...on our knees...

My brother-in-law, Brent Boatwright, is in Mali, Africa right now on a mission trip. This is his 3rd trip to work with the same people group. His church, in Academy, TX, has a full time missionary, Lori, that works with this people group. Yesterday, Brent spoke with the chief of the tribe. He told the chief that he hoped some day the people of the tribe could hear about God and the Bible. The chief asked when he would like to do that. Brent said Wednesday!!!! So the chief is inviting people and Brent will share the gospel with this people group!!! THIS IS AN AMAZING BREAK THROUGH!!! Like I said, Lori has been there full time for years, and she has NEVER had this opportunity!!! After all these years of ministry there has only been one convert. Please pray today that the people would hear the Word of the Lord and that their hearts would be open to His Word! Thanks for praying!

...keeping my head above water...

that really is exactly how I feel these days. things are BEYOND CRAZY at work right now. We are preparing to move into the new building, and there is more than you could probably imagine to do!!!! It's exciting and fun, but to be honest, its terribly overwhelming!!! Where to start? Will it all get done? How do I prioritize? I could bore you with details, but just know that I don't have much time or energy to post, and for that I apologize, but well...what are you going to do about it huh? I hope you'll stick it out and still check my blog, even though posts are going to be few and far between for a few weeks. We start using the building on Feb 3, so things should slow down after that...I'm sure they won't be 100% signed sealed and delivered, but the pressure will at least be off! Thanks for understanding, and please keep me in your prayers! It's draining, emotionally, physically, stressful, and like I said, overwhelming. I know I can get through it, and will be stronger for it, but I will only make it with His strength!

Super Duper: my mom's helping me decorate my office, hopefully it will all come together!
Super Pooper: the "diet" isn't going soooo well...need to get back on it!

...homecoming '07...

photo chronicle of this past weekend

Lillian and I at the top of the new Brooks Village Lookout Tower. Look close - that's Pat Neff in the background! This may be one of my new fave pic!

This is the new Brooks Village mess hall. It's old school style and REALLY nice! Some people say it looks like Harry Potter, but I haven't seen any of the HP movies, so judge for yourself. We thought for some reason that we needed to look contemplative in this picture, we're dorks, I know!

My dear friend Emily, obviously we're at the bonfire.
Just one thing missing...our Lainey Di!!!

My niece, Ashlyn, and nephews, Blake, Brady and Cole (L to R)! Yeah, they're all decked out for the Baylor Homecoming Parade!

Don't get these group shots very often, and yes, we didn't manage to get everyone looking at the same time. But this is all 4 sisters and all 4 cousins, with one on the way!!! Sic 'em bears!

I had to include this one!

It's my brady boy being a ferocious Baylor Bear!

Super Duper: Feel pretty good about the test I had today...and more importantly, ITS OVER!!!

Super Pooper: please pray for my sister. They found fluid on the Baby's brain...this is no good. Could be a precursor for other complications. Please pray, I'll keep you posted!

...please pray...

for my mom.

she has a spot on her face that is causing concern. she is having a biopsy tomorrow (Tues, 9/2). I think they think it is a basal cell...which is malignant, but treatable. Just pray that it is not melanoma, that is harder to treat and more dangerous. Please also pray that she relies on God and has faith in Him. She tends to over react and crater in times of stress. Also pray for my dad that he can comfort her and has the right words to say.

Thanks for your concern. I'll keep you updated.

...going gray...

I wanted to share that I thought of another "weird" thing about me that I thought was worth mentioning:

9. I sleep with a sleep mask, and have for about 3 yrs now. Even better, my current sleep mask looks like frog eyes! When my 2 yr old nephew sees me in it he says, "Ribbit"...sooo cute!

So, on to the subject of this post. I'm not sure how many of you know, but I have found random gray hairs in the midst of my dark brown hair since I was in middle school. Seriously, I'm not making this up. My mom has always told me that she went gray in her early 30s!!! I always thought, that won't really be me, I have such dark hair it won't ever go completely gray. Well, it seems as though I have been in denial lately as I have found gray hairs more frequently. Not to a terribly noticeable level, but definitely more than I used to. Worse yet, my sister (who is 3.5 yrs older than me) and I were talking about this genetic doom that we are most likely facing and she told me that she had started finding so many gray hairs that they were too many to pull. I mean, I find 1 or 2 and pull them, no big deal, but she had so many she couldn't pull them all. She dies her roots every time she sees even 1. So, I'm trying to come to terms with the fact that that could be me in a few years. By the time I'm 30 I could be completely gray!!! I'm not sure I've come to terms with that yet. So, that's my personal revelation for the day...not a fun one!

Super Duper: Going to see the fam and Lil this weekend!
Super Pooper: My sister's boyfriend was mugged and left on the side of the road all night. He finally came to and had to walk a mile barefoot to a gas station to call his dad. They had stolen his shoes, cell phone, cash, keys. He doesn't remember a thing either...which makes him think maybe he was drugged. Please pray. He's pretty shaken up and physically banged up!

...complete exhaustion...

Well, Will & Kristi's wedding was wonderful and fun!! So glad I was able to be there. I love them and both of their families so much, it was such a joy to be a part of it. Turned out Rebecca and I were house party too!!! Fun times!

I'll post some pictures, maybe, depending on the week...

Pray for me as VBS is now less than a week away!!! I'm sure all the details will come together, I'll just be glad when I've made it to this time next week. The stress will be over and I'll be able to sit back and enjoy the week of VBS!

Catch ya on the flip side.

Super Duper: My friends and I went and left 1600 dixie cups of water covering Will & Kristi's apartment!!! Welcome home guys!!!
Super Pooper: Need to catch up on my sleep...long weekend...little sleep...not very smart 1 week before VBS.

I'm leaving for Camp Tallowood tomorrow. Keep me and the youth in your prayers please! Especially having just come off of finishing VBS last week, I need extra prayers for energy! I'll post next week with an update, and hopefully pictures of camp! It's sure to be great!

Super Duper: VBS is done!!! So much work, but so much fun!
Super Pooper: VBS is done!!! Part of me is sad that it's all said and done for another year or so (actually less, because we start planning in February!)
