jerk.com

You know its been a while since you blogged if you go to post something and they have totally reformatted the blog posting process and it prolly happened 6 weeks ago...woops!

I love you faithful readers, if I have any left...are you out there?

I feel the desperate need to do a photo drop from my iphone, but I have a meeting in a bit and don't have the time to download the pics and add captions, so I thought I would tell you a funny story to tide you over, until maybe this weekend when I can do a life update.

So, on Monday my mom calls me, this is our conversation:

Mom: Hey Kasey, why are you on jerk.com?
K (Me): What are you talking about?
Mom: I was trying to read your blog, so I googled "kasey berry blogspot" and a link came up to a profile on jerk.com.
K: Mom, I'm not on jerk.com. What is it anyways?
Mom: I don't know, you're the one with a profile on it. I'm reading it and it says, "Hi, I'm Kasey.  I'm 28 years old. I love kids, I love my family, I love Jesus.  I'm a Preschool Minister."
K: Mom, I don't know what it is, but it's not me.
Mom: Kasey, how many 28 year old preschool ministers named Kasey do you think there are?
(by this time I have googled "kasey berry blogspot" and found the link she was referring to)
K: Mom, I'm not really sure what this site is, but it's not me.  It looks like it's just a generic profile for someone named Kasey Berry.  It doesn't have a picture.  What they have done is linked some websites that include the name Kasey Berry, which of course my blog does.  So, I don't think its anything to worry about.
Mom: Ok, well, I just wasn't sure.
K: Why would you think I would be on jerk.com anyways?
Mom: Well, I just wasn't sure if it was some kind of online dating service or something.
K: WHAT?  YOU THINK I WOULD BE ON AN ONLINE DATING SERVICE CALLED JERK.COM? WHAT KIND OF A GUY DO YOU THINK I WOULD MEET ON JERK.COM?
Mom: I don't know, that's why I was calling.  I was going to suggest that you consider something like Christian Mingle, I've been hearing a lot about it lately.
K: Oh really, what have you heard?
Mom: Well, I've seen commercials.
K: Thanks mom, I'll keep that in mind, in the mean time, I'm not on jerk.com.

In case any of you are worried, no I'm not on jerk.com or Christian Mingle for that matter.  Hope you got a kick out of the fact that my mom thought I was looking for a date on jerk.com.  Also, let's take this opportunity to open the floor to thoughts on online dating.  I'd love to hear any stories you have, successes or failures...is it worth it, which ones are best?  I've opened the door, so sound off, comments welcome.
