...technical difficulties...

In case any of you have tried to leave a comment and haven't been able to, it's because I updated my blogger account and now it's linked to some yahoo account, upon their (blogger's) suggestion, and now I can't leave comments on anyone's blog that isn't a yahoo account and if you're blogger account isn't linked to this new yahoo beta thing, then you can't leave a comment on my blog either. Anywho, I tell you this so that you don't get frustrated and stop trying to leave me comments. Blogger said they are working on fixing it, which I hope they do. I find the whole thing annoying, it was their idea to update, and now it's messed things up. All that to say, hang tight. I LOVE LOVE LOVE comments and don't want ya'll to stop leaving them. Thanks for being patient.

Super Duper: I'm having a fun reunion with old friends on Sat night!
Super Pooper: Things are starting to be due in my classes...yuck!

...hip hop hippity hop hop...

That's right, I said it, HIP HOP!!! Many of you already know, but my most recent experience with a hip hop class is definitely worth a post!!! Let me begin by saying that it was my beautiful friend, Mandy's idea! Then after seeing "Step Up" with a group of girlfriends they were talking about taking a hip hop class. So, long story short, this past Monday 5 of us went and checked out a hip hop class.

Let me clarify. This was not just an aerobics hip hop class, no no. It was at a real dance studio downtown. Now don't get me wrong, it was a beginners class, and it is just for exercise and enjoyment, there's not going to be a recital or anything(unless my friends and I put together our own little show...hahahaha).

So we walk in a few mins early and watch the end of a pretty good tap class. The instructor was this big, meaning built and "swoll", intense black dude (I only include his race because it helps you understand the class better). They were all sweating and working pretty hard. So I'm sitting there thinking, I hope he's not our instructor. Well wouldn't you know it, he was!!!

It ended up being great. He was super intense (think drill sargent), but motivational and serious about his dance. He started with a 30 min "warm up" that really got our hearts going! Then we spent an hour learning steps and moves and going over and over them again. It was HILARIOUS!!! Man, you can be guaranteed that we were all dripping of sweat!!!

Overall, it was a GREAT workout! Rebecca and I were painfully sore the next 2 days, but it was worth it! I think most of us plan on going back, and we may have picked up a few others who are interested too!!! I'll keep you posted, literally, hahhaa, I'm a dork!!

Super Duper: It's the weekend!
Super Pooper: I have to work ALL day tomorrow!

...a series of events...

I have been thinking lately (yes, I know, that can get me in trouble) about the way in which things occur in our life. I fully believe in the sovereignty of our Lord and His divine providence, which means that I must accept that the events of my (our) life (lives) are no mistake. In fact, they are perfectly orchestrated by our omnipotent Father and Creator.

On one hand, this is very comforting. To know that He is in control, watching out for us, and has a plan. We need not worry. We simply need to seek His face so that we can be confident that we are following His will for our lives.

On the surface it sounds so simple, and "taken care of." But I find the difficulty in interpreting the events that He allows to happen in my life. What do they mean? Why did He allow this or that? And I don't always mean a bad event, but even just what are you trying to tell me? Am I missing it? I don't want to miss it. I want to be in the center of God's will, after all, that's the safest place in the world. But how do I know that I'm in the center of God's will? Honestly, there have been times in my life that He has given me confirmation that I was in fact in the center of His will, not for account of anything that I did right or wrong, but just through His goodness He blessed me and showed me clearly His will.

So my question is...how do we fall out of that will? Have I stopped listening? Why can't I hear Him as clearly? And if I'm not necessarily in the center of His will, is it possible to even just be on the target, but not exactly on the bull's eye? Or if you're not on the bull's eye is it just as well to be 5 miles off?

The Will of God, so confusing, but after all, maybe that's the way it is supposed to be. His ways are not our ways, and for that I am grateful.

Super Duper: I have a new favorite dessert at a restaurant right across the street from me...this could be dangerous!!!
Super Pooper: Lots of reading that I need to do before Monday.

...the past week...

I find it interesting that I post the shortest post I have ever posted (see previous post) and yet, I get the most comments I have gotten in over a month. Cracks me up. Apparently you people like short posts, which I rarely ever manage to have. I suppose I'm somewhat long winded.

Things aren't super exciting or anything, but I thought I'd update you. I've been sick for the past 6 days. It's not anything horrible, but I'm ready for it to go away and be done attacking my body.

Oh, I suppose I should mention that I started back to seminary last Monday. It was good. One of my profs is rather intense. Don't get me wrong, he's interesting and I will for sure learn a lot, but he doesn't kid around. On the other hand, my other prof is the exact opposite, super laid back. In fact he is a Christian comedian on the side, that should give you a hint at how serious he is(n't). But they should be a good balance for each other. I'm only one week in and am already reading every spare minute I've got. The good thing so far is that it's interesting reading, which is usually (but not always) the case with seminary.

The only other big thing right now is that they have demo'd A LOT of the church (all 1 story buildings that we moved out of a few months ago). It's super crazy to watch. Lots of people have been sad, but most are excited about what is to come in the next 2 years!!!

Well, today's Labor day and I've still got to figure out my plans. And before I get out of the house, I've got to do some cleaning, and, you guessed it, some reading for seminary.

Super Duper: No class or work today!
Super Pooper: The Bears lost yesterday :(
