...busy, busy, busy...

It all started Friday evening at 7:00. I had volunteered to chaperone the Jr. High lock in (yeah, I don't know what I was thinking). It ended up being super fun. We had free reign of bumper boats, race cars, putt putt, and the arcade (yes, they had Dance Dance Revolution!!!). It was so fun, I didn't even get tired til around 6:00am when we headed back to the church. I finally got home and in bed by 8:15 am, Saturday morning. I had to set an alarm because I had church duties that Saturday and had to be there by 4:15.

After church some of us had pulled together a very casual surprise party for Will's birthday. We got him really good, and it was completely thrown together! Sidenote: he (Will) has this thing where he thinks it would be so cool to be a scientist, particularly because he LOVES the lab coat they get to wear. So we (Rebecca and I) decided to get him a coat and used computer iron-on paper to monogram it to say "Dr. Will McCartney, Bible Scientist" IT WAS HILARIOUS!! He loved it!! All in all a great party, but bad decision to stay up till midnight after having stayed up all night the night before.

Then Sunday I had to be at church at 7:45am because I had to cover for the lady who usually supervises the preschool rooms that are open for the 8:00am service. Man, it was hard to get out of bed soooooo early. Then Sunday night a friend and I went to dinner and the $1.50 movie (we saw "Lucky Number Slevin," very weird flick, but hey, it was only $1.50). Once again I didn't get home till midnight...my lack of sleep was adding up!!!

Then Monday, Memorial Day!!! I hit 2 pool parties...soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much fun!!! Played an inventive game of water softball, made up the rules as we went, even had an umpire...hilarious!!! Left the second pool party around 6:00pm, then did dinner with friends and headed to see "Mission Impossible 3". This time I did manage to get home by 11pm, but after 3+ long days, it seemed sooooooooo late!!!

All in all I had a fantabulous weekend, but crazy busy and exhausting! I'm so grateful to have a night to myself tonight!

Super Duper: Having a group of fun friends to hang out with!
Super Pooper: I burned my thumb on boiling grease and it burns like fire!! No fun getting hurt when you live alone and there's noone to help you or go get Neosporin stuff to help with the pain :(

...debriefing...girl talk...a great conversation...

Well, I'm not sure how many of you know, but for the past 9 months or so, Rebecca and I have had a standing date with Gilmore Girls at my apartment. Well now GG is all reruns, which is good, but not the same. So tonight we decided just to hang out. We had been watching a new restaurant called "Kabob & More" being built super close to my apartment and had wanted to try it out. So tonight was the night. We brought it back to my apartment and actually ate at the table, not on the floor in front of the TV. After choking down our strange "Mediterranean" cuisine (note: we will not be returning to Kabob & More), we looked at some of my new clothes from the previously mentioned shopping excursion. Then we just talked, about anything and everything. We haven't done that in a long while. It was so good, to just sit and not have the TV on, just chit chat, a lil debriefing as we like to call it! All in all, a great night with a great friend!

Super Duper: Our preschool intern got here today, she's super fun and I think it will be a great summer!
Super Pooper: I'm out of touch with a lot of really dear friends right now!! I've got to get better at this!

...THE DEAL OF A LIFETIME...

I had a coupon to New York and Co. I thought it was for every $30 you spend, you get $15 off. I had 4 of these coupons. Meaning I could spend up to $120 and only have to pay $60. So that was my goal, only pay $60. So I tried on several things and finally decided on one skirt and top, one pair of Bermuda shorts and a top, matching flip flops, and 2 other good basic wrap shirts. There was a strapless black dress with lil white polka dots that I also really liked, but couldn't justify (I may have to go back for it though). Anyways, my total was $148. Anticipating getting $60 off, I was prepared to pay about $88 total. Well to my surprise, the lady gave me 66% off and I only had to pay $50 total!! For all those clothes!! I'm soooooooooooo pumped, fun new stuff for spring for sooooooooooooo cheap!! Yay, thank you Lord! Oh, did I mention that I thought I had lost the coupons, but that the Lord brought them to my attention this morning, and they would have expired this weekend! I'm so glad it all came together!

Super Duper: The end of a LONG week (work is stressful right now)!
Super Pooper: Only 3 weeks till VBS, and sooooooo much to do!

...this weekend...

since i promised an update from my weekend at home, I'll hit the highlights:

Thursday: got to Corpus around 7:00pm met my mom, dad, sister, and 2 nephews for dinner at Kikos!

Friday: got my nails refilled in the am with sister and took lil nephew. Big nephew went to school with my mom. We all met up for lunch. Then hung out at the house while the nephews napped. Took Brady to a Cinco de Mayo Carnival at my mom's school. He LOVED IT!! Then we did a lil shopping, then dinner at MY FAVE place in Corpus, POETS!!!

Saturday: got a pedicure, the boys got their pictures taken, (had to eat lunch at Luby's, I was NOT happy), shopped more, went home and hung out with the fam.

Sunday: went to church, lunch with Mamaw (she's kind of losing it mentally), ran to Wal-Mart, headed to the beach when the boys woke up from their naps. OH IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!! They both loved it! We got some stellar pics, I'll try to add them later (I know, I always say that). Then back home where dad and Brady worked in the garden...soooooooooo cute!

Monday: helped get Katy and the boys on the road, then met up with Jana, Teddi and Jacci (I used to babysit for them, Jana has been a long time mentor for me) for lunch. Always good to catch up with old friends!!

Overall a VERY fun long weekend. Not necessarily relaxing, but things never are with my family! Brady is precious and sooooooooo sweet, and Blake is the biggest giggle box ever! I love them so and miss them already!

Super Duper: yesterday was my first Monday with no school!!! I can get used to this.

Super Pooper: VBS craze already!

...to avoid breaking my own rule...

It has been almost a week since I posted, and you all know how I feel about that. I don't really have much to say. I finished seminary for the semester!!! Sooooooooooo excited about that. I almost don't know what to do with myself. Things are plenty busy at work though, which is fine. VBS is a month away and the intensity is settling in! As I said, I don't have a whole lot to say, but I am leaving tomorrow for 4 days in Corpus with my parents and Katy and her boys (Brady and Blake) are meeting us there!! Sooooooooo excited about that. I'll do a full update when I return! Hopefully with some pics! Till then, have a good weekend!

Super Duper: Made cornbread salad for the first time in along time!!! And I'm having leftovers for lunch tomorrow, we all know that it's better a day or two later!!
Super Pooper: I still have to pack tonight or in the morning!
